This Animated Adventure Of FireFly Teaser Is Amazing!

Thirteen years ago, 20th Century Fox made one of their biggest blunders to date when they decided to cancel Firefly.  Fans of the short lived series (a.k.a. Browncoats) were furious when this happened, and they were so vocal in their disdain for Fox that the studio gave the green light for Serenity, a movie featuring the crew from Firefly.  It was suppose to give us "closure."  The problem is, that wasn't nearly enough for the fans of the show.  In fact, fandom for the series has actually increased since the show's cancellation, which is almost unheard of for any television show.  You can find Browncoats at every Comic Con each year, and their numbers just keep on growing.  Joss Whedon, the creator of Firefly, has been giving it's fans more Firefly adventures through comic books, but that doesn't seem to be enough.  Now, one fan is taking things into his own hands.

Firefly fan and artist Stephen Byrne has released a teaser trailer for "The Animated Adventures of Firefly," a series that he's been working on.  First teased on Reddit with a two second GIF that featured Zoe and Wash, Byrne has now upload a full-on trailer for the show onto YouTube.  Click the link below to take you to his page:

There isn't any voice work on the trailer, which I'm sure he's auditioning talent for it as we speak, but the shots he put together show us that he has really been able to capture the essence of Firefly.  In fact, Nathan Fillion (who played Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds) Tweeted, "This is simply wonderful.  Browncoats consistently amaze me." after viewing it himself.  It's so good, in fact, I'm incline to agree with Megan Peters, who works for Comicbook.com, who said:

"Seriously, somebody get this guy a team and some money.  If all goes well, a series with this kind of promise could do for Firefly what The Clone Wars series did for Star Wars on Cartoon Network."

She's not wrong, not by any means.  So do me a favor...click the link up above, watch the trailer, then come back over here and tell me what you think of it.  You can leave me your thoughts in the comments section down below.  "It's seriously 'shiny'!"
