Luke Skywalker's Role In The New Star Wars Movie Has Been Leaked

Damn, that's a lot of Star Destroyers!

Well since the last post I did involved Marvel, I have to follow it up with a Star Wars post.  At least, that seems how things are working out.  But hey, if that's where the news takes me, then that's where I'll go.

We all know that Luke Skywalker is going to be appearing in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but he has been strangely absent from the trailers so far, with the exception of hearing his voice being used as narration.  So what role will Luke be playing in the finale of the saga named after his family?  We now have a small idea thanks to a leak from the same people that let us know about Ewan McGregor returning as Obi Wan back in May, which was confirmed by Disney at D23 last month, so there's a little credit behind this information. And in case this really has to be said...***POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!***

Still here? Good.  It sounds like Luke is going to appear multiple times throughout the movie.  It sounds like he will appear to Rey while she's in training, a la "Force Ghost" like Ben Kenobi in Empire and Return.  He will also appear next to Leia when she passes away from old age (won't go into this part any further, already posted on this earlier.  If you missed it, then GO READ IT!)  The final time that he will appear is during Rey's final battle with Palpatine himself, and it's rumored that Luke might be the one that actually kills him.

That was all that was given in the spoiler department, but it was interesting enough, and the source is a valid one, that I wanted to share.  If these rumors turn out to be true, don't be mad at me for posting them here and ruining it for you.  I gave you the warning before you got to this point.

Let me know what you think about this turn of events for Luke.  I know that a lot of fans were disappointed in his crotchety old fart role from The Last Jedi.  Is this redemption for the character?  we'll just have to wait until December to find out.
