Lucas May Be Helping Disney With Reshoots

This is the problem with big movies and test audiences.  They try to please everybody, and believe me, they never will.  Regardless of this fact, Disney/Lucasfilm and JJ Abrams are doing some extensive reshoots for the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and they have apparently enlisted the help of it's creator, George Lucas.

Art Tavan, who used to write for LA Weekly and Playboy report this on Twitter:

"I'm being told that Disney is reshooting scenes for Star Wars (don't quote me). Things aren't looking good.  Too many variables and audiences to please.  George Lucas as a creative consultant seems like a very likely occurrence - though there's no telling how much say he'll have."

It should be mentioned that reshoots are normal, and that they happen all the time.  There were extensive reshoots for both Rogue One  and Solo.  Let's just hope these turn out more like the former than the latter.  It's also worth mentioning that Abrams spoke with Lucas early on about the script for this movie, wanting his input on how best to tie The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker  together.  While we don't know how much help Lucas will be bringing to the film (or in what capacity), I think it's nice to see him have a hand in the closing of the Skywalker Saga  that he start over forty years ago.

What do you all think?  Is this promising news to you, or is it a forboding sense of dread?  Let me know your thoughts in the comments section, either below or on my Facebook page.
