CW Rumored To Have A Superman Series In The Works

Things are changing over at the CW.  Their tent pole superhero program Arrow is finishing it's run after this season, and it's also rumored that Supergirl may not be renewed due to slumping ratings.  To help fill the void of Arrow at least, it's being said that Greg Berlanti is working with the CW to create a Superman show, tentatively being called Metropolis, and is said to be "modeled after Richard Donner's Superman and John Byrne's comics from 1986." (quote from JB Augustine/BoundingIntoComics)

If Supergirl does end up getting cancelled, this could still be a home for Kara, as the two cousins could fight crime n Metropolis together, but that's only if her show gets axed.  There hasn't been any word as to who will be playing the Big Blue Boyscout, but they do have a couple of options already.  The first is Tyler Hoechlin, who plays Clark Kent on Supergirl.  He has quickly become a fan favorite, with many petitioning WB to make him the next Superman in the DCEU.

The second choice is Brandon Routh.  He's had plenty of experience playing Superman, having played him the movie Superman Returns, and more recently he filmed the Kingdom Come Superman role for CW's upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths.  He'll also be leaving Legends of Tomorrow after this season, so his schedule should be wide open.

Which ever person they chose (at least out of the two listed above) they will have a winner with the fans.  Would you like to see someone else in the role, and if so, who would you like to see in the Superman role?  Let me know in the comments section below, or leave a comment on my Facebook page.  Make sure you like and follow while you're there!
