Real Life Holochess Game From Star Wars Being Developed

hologrid2

Any Star Wars fan that's worth their weight know the name Phil Tippett.  If you're not familiar with the guy, know that he's a two-time Academy Award winner for visual effects.  He's worked on Jurassic Park and the Star Wars movies.  His most memorable visual effect from A New Hope was the holochess board that Chewbacca and C3PO played together on.  Now, Tippett is trying to create an actual holochess board for people to play themselves.  Check out the video down below:

Pretty cool, huh?  From what it looks like, you have to wear some sort of eye wear that allows you to see the board on any flat surface that you want to play on.  Using different playing cards allows you pick and choose the different monsters that you want to play with.

When the game will be available hasn't been released, and something this ambitious will probably keep it off the shelves for a couple more years at least.  I'll let you know more as information is released.  So what do you think?  Would this be something that you'd be interested at playing?  Let me know your thoughts about this in the comments section down below.
