Spaceballs 2 May Be On The Way

Mel Brooks has made some of my favorite movies ever, with titles like Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, and of course...Spaceballs!  It was teased in the movie that they were going to make a sequel for the film called The Search For More Money, and at the time it just seemed like it was written in as a joke.  It's a joke no more, as it's been confirmed by none other than Mel Brooks himself that Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money is now in the early stages of development!

Mel Brooks recently appeared on Podcast King Adam Carolla's show, Take a Knee, and told Carolla that they're working on the script, and he wold like to get as many of the original actors involved with the film as possible.  Two actors that will be noticeable absent are John Candy, who passed away back in '94, and Joan Rivers, who passed away late last year.  Another actor that may not return is Rick Moranis, who retired form acting several years back, and is hesitant to return.

Come on, Rick!  This movie will suck without Dark Helmet! Please come back!!!

Mel Brooks is hoping to start filming early in 2016, after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakes, and he hopes that peoples love of Star Wars and Spaceballs will make the sequel a hit.  Not so it can make a lot of money, but because Mr. Brooks just loves to make us laugh!
