With all of the news that's been surrounding Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it's easy to forget that the next chapter in the ongoing "Episode" series is going to be coming out next year. Principle photography has already been completed, and John Williams is currently preparing to start scoring the film. With everything seeing to be moving ahead of schedule, when can we expect to see the first trailer for the film? According to an Instagram picture that was posted by justiceleaguex the teaser trailer for the film is going to drop on December 20, 2016. Check out the picture below:
If the date for December 20, 2016 is correct, that's a little unusual. That will be four days after the premier of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I think it would make more sense for the teaser to be released at the beginning of the new Star Wars Anthology film, right? Unless Disney doesn't want to take away from the new stand alone movie, I'd expect that it'd be a great marketing tool to have it premier along with the film, But what do I know?
These dates are not set in stone. Notice that it reads that the first Justice League trailer "can" be released on December 27, 2016, so does that mean that these dates are actually starting points for these trailer premiers and not the actual dates? We'll just have to wait until December 20th to find out if that's when we see the first shots of the next Episode movie.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 16, 2016, and Star Wars: Episode VIII comes out December 15, 2017.
