Are Justice League Reshoots Due To "Unwatchable" Final Cut?

So there have been a lot of rumors running around about the reshoots that Joss Whedon is doing for the Justice League movie, and it's being said that the reason for them is because an early screening of the film was "unwatchable."  Not good news.

Batman of Film's Bill Ramey was the first to report this, although he didn't say who was in the audience that viewed the early screening.  While this is just a rumor, Ramey has a pretty good track record on accurate rumblings.  That being said, it should be noted that the rewrites for the reshoots for the film had been requested by Zach Snyder to be done by Joss Whedon before Snyder stepped down due to personal reasons.  Whedon was easy to get to sign on to do this since he'd recently joined WB and the DCEU for the Batgirl movie.  Many people believe that Whedon was brought on to "lighten" the movie up from the "darker" tone that Snyder has been known for with his movies.  The funny thing is, Whedon doesn't necessarily make "lighter" movies.  In fact, it's been said that the reason he left Marvel was because they wanted a lighter tone for Avengers: Age of Ultron than the one that Whedon wanted.  Also, he likes to take out major characters that are fan favorites.  Coulson, in the first avengers film, Quicksilver in the sequel, and if you want to go outside the MCU he killed of Wash and Book in Serenity.  Just saying...

DC and WB have always said that the Justice League movie would be lighter in tone, but it's primarily due to the addition of the other members, primarily The Flash.  The Wonder Woman movie, which has become the fan favorite of the DCEU, has also helped them to decide to lighten up the tone for the movie, too.  It's success was not only due to the actors in the film, but for it's action and uplifting feel.  If it works, run with it!

Since it's still a few months out, whatever Whedon wants to change for the film then he better get to changing it quickly.  It's set to hit theaters November 17, 2017.
