Leak Reveals How Emperor Palpatine Returns In The Rise Of Skywalker
When the teaser trailer for The Rise of Skywalker hit, fans went nuts at the end when Emperor Palpatine's laugh echoed into the close of it. Since then, people have been wondering how it is that he's returned. Is he a clone? Does he possess Rey (hence her Sith garb outfit in the most recent trailer), or is he simply a Force Ghost that is able to manipulate the real world? We now know the answer, thanks to a leak that has proven reliable in the past. Before going any further, I should warn...***POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!!!***
If you are still reading this, then you really want to know the answer to this. Unfortunately, it's not as exciting as it could have been. He simply survived the fall into the Death Star at the end of Return of the Jedi. Really. That's it. He was severely injured and hid in the shadows until he was fully recovered. While he was recovering, he created the Sith Stormtroopers, which are the red Stormtroopers that you see in the trailer.
The leak went on to say that the Emperor enlists the help of Kylo Ren to help him turn Rey to the Dark Side. It's hard to say how things turn out, though, because while we do see Rey in the black robes of the Sith Lord, it was also revealed by Disney that it was a vision that Rey had of herself, just like Luke had in The Empire Strikes Back while he was on Dagobah. Was this "accidental" leak by Disney done to mislead everyone? I highly doubt this, I don't think they're this smart. But hey, while it hasn't been often, I have been wrong before.
What do you think of this leak and what it says about how they are planning on explaining his reappearance? Let me know in the comments section below, or leave a comment on my Facebook page. I want to know what you think.
