Blastr.com Gives Us 13 Facts About The Millennium Falcon

How cool is this picture!

Blastr.com published a pretty cool article giving us 13 facts about the Millennium Falcon that people might not be aware of, and it was a fun read, especially because of all of the excitement that's building with the soon to be released Star Wars: The Force Awakens!  If you'd like to read the article, I'll leave the link at the end of this post.

A couple of the interesting facts that they give us?  Did you know that the name Millennium Falcon wasn't the YT-1300 freighter's original name?  Neither did I!  It had two previous names: Second Chance and Gone To Pieces!  Here are a few more facts that they list:

George Lucas got the inspiration for the Falcon's shape after seeing an olive on a toothpick that was attached to a hamburger that had a bite taken out of it.  I guess inspiration really does hit you at the strangest moments!

This one you might already know:  We all know about the ship's "Kessel Run", done in less than 12 parsecs, but do you know why it was there in the first place?  Han used to smuggle spice out of Kessel for the Hutts before joining the Rebels.  The spice was a narcotic that was outlawed by the Empire.

Okay, here's the last one that I'm going to give you:  Did you know that in one scene of A New Hope, there are a pair of gold dice seen hanging in the Falcon's cockpit?
