Before I begin, I have to apologize. The only videos that Blogger has available with regards to the trailer are "Fan Reaction" videos, and honestly, I hate those and won't subject you all to them. So before reading any further, go to the following link for YouTube so you can watch the trailer yourself:
Now, if you've just watched the trailer and you are back reading this, then you must have been intrigued. They told us that this was going to be unlike any X-Men movie that's come before, and they weren't lying. The dark tone definitely shows us their intent in making an R-rated movie, and the use of the Johnny Cash song made the tone for the trailer very dark. We hear Logan saying, "Charles, the world is not the same as it was. Mutants. They're gone now." Does that mean that they've all been killed? Why were the Professor and Logan the only two to have survived then? We also meet a little girl, who I'm assuming is X-23, a.k.a. Laura Kinney. They don't actually show her using her powers...well, that might not be quite true. There is one scene where it looks like Laura is getting tossed into another person, but she could also be launching herself at the guy to attack. A different version of the trailer also shows Logan defending himself from someone that also has claws...two claws from each hand to be exact. That's the same as X-23. The people chasing them in the trailer, I'm guessing that they work for "Mister Sinister," who is being reported to be the villain in the film. While we might not have been given much in the way of the plot, it's still an exciting trailer to watch.
Something that my friend Ken told me yesterday (Ken is one half of "The John and Ken Show" from BYBI over on YouTube) I hadn't really noticed, but after going back and watching it, had to admit that he's right. He said the trailer for the movie reminded him of the popular video game "The Last of Us." Go ahead and watch them both and telling me what you think. They do look quite similar.
So what do you think? Did you like the trailer? Are you looking forward to seeing the movie next year even more since viewing it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below. Logan hits theaters March 3, 2017.
