My Good Friend Has Published Her Third Book...Here's The Review From THe Dayton Daily News

Local author Kristina McBride says she’s loved reading since she turned six, and can’t remember a time since then that she wasn’t writing or reading.

Her passion for writing has resulted in the publication of her third young adult novel, “A Million Times Goodnight,” which came out at the beginning of July 2016 from Skypony Press.
Kristina, a native of the area, says she grew up across from a Dayton Public Library.
In a Literary Life interview with her shortly after the publication of her second young adult novel (“One Moment”), Kristina commented, “Every book transported me to another world, which felt like magic to me. I wanted to make that magic.”

As the author of three young adult novels — the first was “The Tension of Opposites” — Kristina has made that magic come to life for many readers. She has yet another young adult novel, “The Bakersville Dozen” scheduled for publication with Skypony Press in the summer of 2017.
Additionally, Kristina is an adjunct instructor of creative writing at Antioch University Midwest and Wright State University. She also does manuscript consulting through The Write Sisters (www.writesistersconsulting.com) and frequently presents at book festivals and writing workshops.
Before becoming a novelist, Kristina taught at Springboro High School for eight years and was yearbook advisor. She and her husband, an elementary school teacher, are both graduates of Centerville High School and Wright State University. They live in the Dayton area with their two young children. Kristina earned her B.S., education, from Wright State in 1997 and her M.S., education, in 2006.

I recently caught up with Kristina to interview her in depth about her writing for an online-exclusive Dayton Daily News feature, “Dayton Reads.”
I asked her to describe “A Million Times Goodnight.”

She said, “It’s the story of a girl who is betrayed by her boyfriend. She has to decide in the very beginning what she’s going to do—stay in town and get revenge? Or leave town and run away from the whole situation? At that moment in the story, time splits, kind of like in the movie “Sliding Door” with Gwyneth Paltrow. Then we follow my character through both time lines—in the even-numbered chapters, we see what happens if she chooses to stay, and in the odd-numbered chapters, what happens if she chooses to run away.”

Kristina will celebrate the publication of “A Million Times Goodnight” with a book launch on Thursday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m., at Books & Co. at The Greene.
