How badass is this thing!
Last weekend at SDCC, it was announced that yes, Ghost Rider will be appearing in the upcoming season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and to top things off, they put Ghost Rider's new ride on display at the Marvel booth at the convention. If you're expecting him to be an updated version of the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider that we were introduced to in the Nicolas Cage movies, be prepared to be disappointed...unless you didn't like the movies, then you probably have nothing to worry about!
"When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it'll change everything!" This is how Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb described the upcoming season. Actually, his exact words were:
“Season 4 will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider… When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything.”
Gabriel Luna will be introduced this season as Robbie Reyes, the more recent adaptation of the character, but unlike his predecessor, he'll be driving a tricked out hot rod as opposed to a motorcycle. While not much is known as to how they are going to bring him into the show, his appearance is significant because this will be the first Marvel version of Ghost Rider to make it to the MCU. So basically, forget about everything thing else that's been made dealing with this character, they're hitting the reboot button.
What do you think about this latest addition to Coulson's team? Are you getting excited for the new season to begin? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below.
