Marvel Is About To Go VERY Old School!

Sometimes is comic books, in order to fix the present and the future you have to fix the past, and that is what it looks like Marvel is about to do.  In fact, they are going to be going all the way back in the new Marvel Legacy #1...to give us the "1,000,000 BC Avengers."

With all of the crap that they've been giving readers (well, those that are still following the storyline) with the Hydra Captain America, and the fact that he's taking out fan favorite heroes, in order to put things right and move forward again, they are going to give us a "soft reboot" that will feature the very first Avengers team.  That team is comprised of Odin (Thor's father), the first Iron Fist and Black Panther, the first Ghost Rider, Starbrand, Phoenix,  and Agamotto (one of the ancient Vishanti from the Doctor Strange comic books).  This 50-page first issue is being written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Esad Ribic.  It's Executive Editor is Tom Brevoort who, when talking about the first issue, said this:

“Marvel Legacy #1 isn’t simply a history lesson. Rather, it’s the starting gun to a bevy of mysteries, secrets, and revelations that will reverberate across the Marvel Universe in the weeks and months to come! No character, no franchise will be untouched by the game-changing events that play out across its pages. Jason and Esad pulled out all the stops to fat-pack this colossal issue with as much intrigue, action, surprise, mystery, shock, and adventure as possible!”

The comic won't take place exclusively in the past, as it's being said that it will involve "elements of Planet Hulk,"  it will explain what happened to Captain America, why Jean Grey suddenly split for Canada, and will talk about Thor's battle in Asgard.  It's also revealed that someone has abducted Iron Man's comatose body and it seems that someone else is out there trying to collect all of the Infinity Stones.

It sounds like this may be the last time (for a long while, anyway) that Marvel will be tinkering with it's comic's history.  Every time they change something, it confuses readers, both old and new.  This sounds like it will put everything right, and they will move forward from the after affects of all of the events that will take place in the past.

Marvel Legacy #1 will be released September 27, 2017.
