It seems like it's been a long time since I first told you all that there was a live action Teen Titans television series that was in the works, but then news of this project just stopped and nothing new had been reported. It sounded like the series may have been scrapped. Possible reasons for this might have been all of the comic book related television shows that were already out there. The CW pretty much has one for every night of the week, ABC has Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Netflix has their own Marvel series, Fox has Gotham, and pretty soon Krypton will be making it's debut on SyFy. However, even with all of these different shows already out there, it looks like the Teen Titans is a go, and will air on a brand new DC streaming site, along with a new season of Young Justice.
The show will be written and directed by two of the biggest names in comic books and comic book related television shows, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti. The two will actually be helping Akiva Goldsman, who will be "crafting" the show. Goldsman is best known for his work on Transformers and is also working on the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery. Now, we can add one more name to the list of people attached to the show, Teagan Croft, who will be playing Raven. While no other actors have been hired yet to round out the team, it's being said that the other characters will include Beast Boy, Starfire, and Dick Grayson.
It sounds like that they are looking for newcomers and up-and-coming actors to take on these roles, but with Dick Grayson being the leader of the team, they may be looking for a familiar face to play him. Right now, the rumor is that Drake Bell is the one that they are looking towards, but other than the rumor, nothing has been confirmed or announced.
The show, which will be called Titans, will premier on the DC streaming service sometime in 2018.
