This almost sounds too good to be true!
MoviePass recently announced that they are lowering their monthly subscription rate from around $50 all the way down to $10...well, $9.95 anyway. This will allow subscribers to see one movie every 24 hours, it does not work with IMAX or 3D movies, and you can't see the same movie more than once. To use this, you have to download the MoviePass app, which is available for Android and iPhones, and after you enter your information into the app, a MoviePass "debit card" will be sent to you within a week of subscribing. How this works is first, you enter in your zip code and the app will show you the theaters in your area that allow MoviePass, you enter in the title of the movie and then it will show you a list of times that are available for said movie. After they load up the information and the ticket amount onto your MoviePass debit card, you just hand it over to the ticket booth when you show up.
Right now, MoviePass is accepted at 91% of the theaters in the United States, which is roughly around 4,000 theaters, and according to Statista the average price of ticket prices was $8.95. Of course, larger cities charge more per ticket. New York City, for example, charges an average of $15. So basically, if you sign up and see at least two movies a month, you're already saving money. If you watch one movie every day for one year, that's 365 movies for only $120.
The CEO of MoviePass, Mitch Lowe, admits that they will be losing money in the short term, but says that theaters are suffering from poor attendances and thinks that if he can help get people into theater seats, it will help the movie theaters, and Hollywood, in the long term. Lowe used to be an executive over at Netflix, and seems to be following their formula. Considering that MoviePass' monthly average to their website had been 10,000 hits, and that they got over 500,000 in the first six hours after they announced the price reduction, Lowe might be onto something.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Spinoff Movie Announced By Lucasfilm
It sounds like Ewan McGregor's desire to reprise his role as Obi-Wan has been heard...and answered.
Disney's post-Episode IX plans have been confirmed. Lucasfilm will be producing a stand alone Obi-Wan Kenobi film with McGregor returning in the title role. While it's still in it's very early stages, it's being reported that Stephan Daldry (Billy Elliot) will helm the project as director. So far, the only thing that we know about the film is that it will take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
The decision to make this movie continues Lucasfilm's desire to expand the Star Wars Universe with stand alone one-shot movies that are separate from the Episode films. Their first attempt at this was last year's Rogue One, which was well received by Star Wars fans, and was a financial success for the company. Next year, their second attempt will deal with Han Solo, and is a much riskier venture due to the fact that they have recast the role of Han Solo with Alden Ehrenreich. Whether or not fans will accept him as the younger version of Harrison Ford's character remains to be seen.
While Lucasfilm is keeping true to their plan to release a new Star Wars movie every year, it still remains to be seen what their plans are with the Episode series after Episode IX is released May 24, 2019, but the announcement of the Obi-Wan movie gives them another year to figure that out. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will hit theaters December 15, 2017, and the Han Solo movie will come out several months later on May 25, 2018.

What The Hell Is Going On With The DCEU's Batman Movie?
Nothing seems to be going right for Warner Bros. and DC's Batman movie, if everything that we've heard about it is true. First, we heard that WB was fast-tracking the movie because of the popularity of Ben Affleck's portrayal of The Dark Knight and that he was going to write and direct the movie. Then we heard that he was stepping down from the director's chair and was handing the reigns over to Matt Reeves, but that they were going to keep the script for the film that had been produced. Next we heard that Ben Affleck wasn't going to star in the movie at all, but at San Diego Comic Con while appearing on the WB and DC panel to promote the upcoming Justice League film, he said that he would keep on playing Batman for as long as WB would let him. After that news came out, it was revealed that the script that Affleck helped write was no longer the story that the movie was going to follow, and that a whole new script was being written. And now, the latest news about this film comes from none other than Ben's brother Casey, who said during an interview with WEEI Sports Radio while promoting A Ghost Story, said this:
“I thought he was an OK Batman. No, I thought he was great. He was great. He’s a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he’s not going to do that movie, I don’t think. Sorry to say. Is that breaking news? Because I was just kind of making that up, I don’t know.”
Okay, I know those last two lines are going to be scrutinized as being what he had just said was nothing more than a joke, but if you listen to the actual interview, those last two lines were only spoken after the two interviewers where like, "Wha????"
Look, chances are these were just the ramblings of a younger brother thinking out loud. He just got caught doing this in a recorded interview. Still, it makes me wonder just what the hell is going on with the DCEU's Batman movie?

Unique View Of Two Different Director Styles From MCU Actor
Sean Gunn has had the pleasure of working with both his brother, James Gunn, and the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe. He worked double-duty when filming Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 1 & 2, as Kraglin and as the motion capture performer for Rocket Raccoon. Bradley Cooper does the voice, but Sean is the guy who does all of the physical work. Because of this, he's been on the set for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, and like I said in the title of this post, he's got a first hand view of the different directing styles.
"The Russos are different, but I can tell you they’re great. I can tell you I love working with them, and I think I also identified with the idea of working with my brother as something that they do all the time, just like my brother and I do. I really enjoyed working with them, but the style’s different. No director is like any other exactly."
While Sean talked about the directors with ComicBook.com, Paul Bettany spoke with Collider to talk about the scale of the Infinity War movie.
“It felt like the biggest movie that I’ve ever made and will ever make, and we’ve still got to make the [next] one. It’s f***ing crazy! I would come in, often at dawn because of the length of my make-up, and there would just be all of these twinkling lights. It looked like a town, but it wasn’t. It was where all of the trailers were. It was just massive. It’s massive! The call sheets are bananas. When you see the list of cast members, you’re like, ‘How is anybody else making a film in Hollywood, this year? How are they getting films financed? Everybody is in this!'”
He continued:
“[The Russos] are so great. They’ve got so much trust, from the cast and from Kevin Feige and Marvel, in general. They’re incredibly on top of the day, when you show up, and they’re very open to your input and collaboration. They were incredibly relaxed. It was a wonderful, relaxed set that was stress-free. It was a stress-free set, which was brilliant.”
It's always fun to get the inside view of how things work during filming, and I also get a kick out of how excited the actors sound whenever they talk about filming this movie. Can't wait for it to come out. Oh, in case I haven't let you know it's release date (at least a couple of dozen times in older posts!) Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on May 4, 2018.

Could We Still Get A Gremlins 3?
It's been 33 years since the original Gremlins was released into theaters. While it was directed by Joe Dante back in 1984, the movie was written by Chris Columbus. It should be noted that even though Dante directed the 1990 sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Columbus had nothing to do with that one. He has recently said that he has a fully written script for Gremlins 3, which he said follows the darker tone that the first movie had, as opposed to the more comedic one that the sequel had.
Columbus recently sat down with Slashfilm to talk about his desire to make a proper sequel:
“I’m really proud of the script, It is as twisted and dark as anything, so we’ll see. It’s always a budgetary conversation when we’re going to shoot it. I wanted to go back to the really twisted sensibility of the first movie. I found that was a very easy place for me to fall back into and start writing again so hopefully we’ll see that movie soon.”
One of the questions that he was asked was wouldn't it be easier to get rid of the infestation of Gremlins if they just killed off Gizmo, the original Mogwai?
“Very good observation. That comes up in the movie, certainly … I think it probably is a good idea to be honest with you. Too many people are dying”
I don't know if he was just jerking us around about that last part, but it still seems pretty cool that he's still wanting to do this project. With all of the new technology and CGI that's around now, I think it could be a pretty epic film. Don't know if it will ever get made, but if I hear anything else, I'll let you all know. Fingers crossed!

Are Justice League Reshoots Due To "Unwatchable" Final Cut?
So there have been a lot of rumors running around about the reshoots that Joss Whedon is doing for the Justice League movie, and it's being said that the reason for them is because an early screening of the film was "unwatchable." Not good news.
Batman of Film's Bill Ramey was the first to report this, although he didn't say who was in the audience that viewed the early screening. While this is just a rumor, Ramey has a pretty good track record on accurate rumblings. That being said, it should be noted that the rewrites for the reshoots for the film had been requested by Zach Snyder to be done by Joss Whedon before Snyder stepped down due to personal reasons. Whedon was easy to get to sign on to do this since he'd recently joined WB and the DCEU for the Batgirl movie. Many people believe that Whedon was brought on to "lighten" the movie up from the "darker" tone that Snyder has been known for with his movies. The funny thing is, Whedon doesn't necessarily make "lighter" movies. In fact, it's been said that the reason he left Marvel was because they wanted a lighter tone for Avengers: Age of Ultron than the one that Whedon wanted. Also, he likes to take out major characters that are fan favorites. Coulson, in the first avengers film, Quicksilver in the sequel, and if you want to go outside the MCU he killed of Wash and Book in Serenity. Just saying...
DC and WB have always said that the Justice League movie would be lighter in tone, but it's primarily due to the addition of the other members, primarily The Flash. The Wonder Woman movie, which has become the fan favorite of the DCEU, has also helped them to decide to lighten up the tone for the movie, too. It's success was not only due to the actors in the film, but for it's action and uplifting feel. If it works, run with it!
Since it's still a few months out, whatever Whedon wants to change for the film then he better get to changing it quickly. It's set to hit theaters November 17, 2017.

Neuromancer Movie In Development
This is pretty cool, especially because of it's director!
So Simon Kinberg is trying to develop Neuromancer, a novel that was written by William Gibson back in 1984, and has yet to be made into a movie, although it's influenced a number of films including the Matrix. The book even originated the term "cyberspace" so it's amazing that this story hasn't already been told on the silver screen. Not that it hasn't been tried before, it has, but now it looks like it's actually going to get done.
Originally, Vincenzo Natali was going to direct the film, but he's out and Kinberg is getting Deadpool's director, Tim Miller, to take on the job, but first Miller is suppose to direct the next Terminator film. Neuromancer doesn't have a screenplay for it yet, but as soon as I hear more about this film, I'll let you know.

Three New DC Animated Movies Announced For 2018
One of the most anticipated panels each year at San Diego Comic Con is the one that deals with DC's animated movies division. These films go straight to DVD and Blu-Ray, but are some of the most popular and profitable films that DC produces. This year's panel did not fail to excite everyone that was in the audience. They announced the three titles that will be released next year, and each one sounds likely to amaze. Here are the three films, in no particular order of release...
The first one is Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. While the plot of this film has yet to be released, it will feature Task Force X, which will probably feature the characters that were in the movie, Suicide Squad, and may also use characters that are currently in the DC comics New 52 and Rebirth. While no one character has been announced, it's stands to reason that the main character that will be front and center will be Harley Quinn, if for no other reason than she seems to be one of the most popular characters in the DC arsenal.
The next movie that they announced is one that kind of strays from their usual films, but is one that fans have been hoping to see for a long time, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. A while back, DC made a lot of comic books that were part of the "Elseworlds" line, which took popular DC characters and put them in different time periods, or changed their origins and upbringings, which in turn altered their development into a new hero that we'd never seen before. Think "Clark Kent raised by Thomas and Martha Wayne," or "Bruce Wayne being chosen to wield the Green Lantern ring." Well, Gotham by Gaslight is kind of like that. It follows a Batman in the 1800's that is hunting down the infamous Jack the Ripper. If it stays true to the comic book, this will be a must see.
The last one they announced, as you can probably guess from the picture above, is Death of Superman. They, meaning DC, tried to make an animated film that dealt with this already called Superman: Doomsday, but it was nothing like the comic book storyline. Fans complained that they wanted a "Death of Superman" that was more true to the comic book, and it sounds like DC listened. This movie is actually going to be split into two movies, with Reign of the Supermen being the second one and will be released in 2019. This isn't the first time DC has split a storyline into two movies. They did the same thing when they released The Dark Knight Returns.
So those are the next three animated movies that DC is going to release. When the actual dates for their release are announced, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, if you haven't watched any of their animated movies yet, make sure you do. One of my favorites is Under the Red Hood, so check it out!

Live Action Teen Titans Series Hires It's First Actor
It seems like it's been a long time since I first told you all that there was a live action Teen Titans television series that was in the works, but then news of this project just stopped and nothing new had been reported. It sounded like the series may have been scrapped. Possible reasons for this might have been all of the comic book related television shows that were already out there. The CW pretty much has one for every night of the week, ABC has Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Netflix has their own Marvel series, Fox has Gotham, and pretty soon Krypton will be making it's debut on SyFy. However, even with all of these different shows already out there, it looks like the Teen Titans is a go, and will air on a brand new DC streaming site, along with a new season of Young Justice.
The show will be written and directed by two of the biggest names in comic books and comic book related television shows, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti. The two will actually be helping Akiva Goldsman, who will be "crafting" the show. Goldsman is best known for his work on Transformers and is also working on the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery. Now, we can add one more name to the list of people attached to the show, Teagan Croft, who will be playing Raven. While no other actors have been hired yet to round out the team, it's being said that the other characters will include Beast Boy, Starfire, and Dick Grayson.
It sounds like that they are looking for newcomers and up-and-coming actors to take on these roles, but with Dick Grayson being the leader of the team, they may be looking for a familiar face to play him. Right now, the rumor is that Drake Bell is the one that they are looking towards, but other than the rumor, nothing has been confirmed or announced.
The show, which will be called Titans, will premier on the DC streaming service sometime in 2018.

First Full Look At Brolin's Cable
Ryan Reynolds sent the above picture out of Josh Brolin as Cable for the upcoming Deadpool 2 movie, and he's looking pretty badass...even with the Teddy Bear strapped to his hip! We've been teased with photos of Brolin making the change to Cable for his new role in the X-Men Marvel Universe, but this is the first picture we've been given where we get to see Cable in all his glory. You get a great look at his cyborg side, as well as the scarring on the side of his face from the techno-organic virus that he was infected with as a child by Apocalypse. While his appearance looks very much like his comic book version, expect changes to be made to the cinematic version of the character. There's one thing that doesn't look they plan on changing though, and the Teddy Bear is the clue.
In the comic books, Cable (a.k.a. Nathan Summers) was tasked with being the protector of Hope Summers, the first naturally born mutant after "M-Day" event (look it up). He took her to the future to protect her from those that thought that she may be the antichrist destined to kill millions, while others thought that she was messiah figure for all mutants. The Teddy Bear may be a slight nod to her possible appearance in the X-Men Marvel Universe in the near future.
There have already been talks about crossing Reynolds' Deadpool character over into other X-Men films, and it seems that they're using his popular movie franchise as a launching point for certain X-Men characters, too. Domino will be making her first appearance, along with Cable, as well as some of the New Mutants. Could it be possible that Hope could be making an appearance in Deadpool 2 as well? Probably not, but her inclusion into the X-Men universe could help Fox finally fix their continuity problem.
There have been a lot of problems with keeping the X-Men timeline in order, and when X-Men: Days of Futures Past came out, it was suppose to fix all of it, but there still seem to be some issues. With Cable and Hope traveling through time, this may be able to explain the problems in the complexity that Fox has created with their movies. Only time will tell if this takes place, though.
Deadpool 2 will come out in theaters on June 1, 2018. New Mutants will come out April 13, 2018, just a month and a half earlier that Deadpool 2.

New Avengers Team Rumored For Phase 4 Avengers Movie
So we already know that there's going to be a shakeup with the Avengers team by the time Avengers 4 is done, but we just don't know how big of a change it's going to be. If the rumor that's making it's way around 4chan turns out to be true, then it could be extensive. I say "if
the rumor turns out to be true, because 4chan is generally hit or miss when it comes to the accuracy of their posted rumors. This one, though, sounds as if it could be real.
The first thing you have to consider is the fact that all of the original actors have been playing their roles for the last ten years or so, and with the success of each film, the actor's salary is bound to increase. Soon, Marvel and Disney either won't be able to, or won't want to meet the demands of each actor. Most of the original actor's contracts are also set to expire and outside of Chris Evans, none have renegotiated for future projects. The Russo brothers have also been teasing that not all of the members of the Avengers will survive Infinity War and Avengers 4, so some of them may not be able to come back at all. I've covered all of this before, so let's move on to the rumor...
According to the rumor, the Avengers film that will be released during Marvel's "Phase 4" (if they'll even call it that) will be called either New Avengers or Mighty Avengers. It's also saying that the team will be comprised of Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and Wasp, and the surprise of the whole rumor...Moon Knight. It's been said that Moon Knight would be making his way into the MCU at some point, and since James Gunn has been lobbying to get him in, chances are that it will happen.
Again, this is just a rumor right now, but if I hear anything else involving all of this, I'll make sure to keep you updated. Avengers: Infinity War comes out May 4, 2018, and the as of yet untitled Avengers 4 will hit theaters one year later on May 3, 2019.

New Animated Transformers Movie In Development
How many of you remember 1986? It was a time of campy 80's cartoons like He-Man, Thundercats, G.I. Joe, and yes...Transformers. In fact, Transformers made the jump from small screen to silver screen that year, and it was a movie that really shook things up for the cartoon, changes that even made their way over to the television show. A lot of the original Autobots were killed off, including Optimus Prime. While it was a shock that Hasbro would do such a thing, it turns out that the reason that they wanted to kill off a lot of the original characters was to make way for a new line of Transformers toys. It had to do with marketing. What Hasbro hadn't expected was the blow back that it received after the movie came out. Fans were furious. How could they kill off Optimus Prime? Well, Hasbro got the hint, and Optimus eventually made his way back from the dead. By the way, this movie had a killer 80's soundtrack for it, too!
With Michael Bay's Transformers movies still popular at the theaters (even though The Last Knight didn't do nearly as well as his other films) Hasbro is splintering off into other projects that take place in the Transformers universe. There's a Bumblebee movie being made, which will star John Cena and Hailee Steinfeld, and will be a type of prequel that's set in the 1980's. I've got to say, it's funny how different movies love going back to that decade! X-Men did it, the upcoming Captain Marvel movie will take place then, too, the Wonder Woman sequel, and now the Bumblebee movie...but I digress...
Now it's been announced that Hasbro is indeed working on a new full-length animated feature of the Transformers. It's reportedly going to be made as a kind of origins story for the Autobots and Decepticons. Even though it's going to be an animated feature, it will take place in the same universe as the Michael Bay films. It's also not going to be a "one and done" type of thing, either. Hasbro and Paramount (which will be releasing the films through Allspark Pictures) want to release a Transformers animated film every year, although there hasn't been any word on when this first movie will arrive.
Just as an FYI, Hasbro is also planning on releasing a Stretch Armstrong animated movie, and a My Little Pony animated movie, too. Not interested in either of those, but I'll keep you up to date on the Transformers cartoon as details begin to emerge.

Here's A Rare Interview That I Just Did
So I decided to do a bit of a different post this morning, I did an interview with my buddy Ken who just published the number one issue of Discoball Man, an original comic book that ain't part of the big three! I recorded the whole thing so you could read our conversation:
What is it you do that you were able to develop this comic?
What do I do??? I think anyone can make a comic book if they want.. I mean it’s not like I am the love child of Stan Lee and Todd McFarlane or maybe I am, either way my lawyer says I can’t talk about that. If you are asking what I do for a job, I make propaganda films or documentary films, which are the same thing.
What was the inspiration for the comic?
Honestly, Discoball Man is a collage of many people but mostly one person. The real individual who inspired the Discoball Man, I won’t mention is actual name as he wants to remain anonymous, lead me to create a character for a YouTube video. I couldn’t do his adventures justice in video form because I lacked the funding. I am married with kids so I can’t just spend money like I did when I was 20, so I decided to put his adventures into Comic Book form. Then when we created the comic, I wanted it to be more than just another comic… So we did things a bit differently. We treated it like a novel/journal.. The whole comic takes place from Disco’s perspective... And there are tons of Easter Eggs in every story... If you are into Comics, pop culture, Movies, TV shows there is something in there left for you to find.
Why Discoball Man? Are you a fan of the 70's?
I actually find the 70’s to be a hilarious time in History.. You have Watergate, you have the end of the Hippies, the beginning of the Disco Divas, you have really horrible fashion.. Ugly shag carpeting.. Kitchen Appliances that are green. Cars that are brown with Orange Interior. In addition, if you can get ahold of some comics from the 70’s you will be wowed by the ridiculousness of it all. It was a much more fun era to live in.. at least from a Nostalgic point of view.. The 70’s and 80’s were fun.. The 90’s got a shade darker.. and when we got here to the 21st century it’s just bleak.. I was like screw that lets bring back the hip grooviness.
How did you and Amy collaborate on this project?
I have known Amy for going on a decade. We work together. I did not know she was an Artist though until like 3 years ago. I had this other story that was a children’s book I had wanted to do and couldn’t get an artist to finish it so she started on it.. Around the same time, I started doing the Discoball Man videos. I then started looking for an artist to help make the comic... I did not want to bother her with it but after like 5 artist let me down (artists are a fickle) she mentioned she would like to give it a try.
Did you give Amy creative freedom in interpreting the comic?
Amy had complete creative freedom on the characters except for Disco. Since I had done the videos, I wanted his costume to be the same. She drew all the characters, and runs them by me.. Normally I just say perfect and go with it.. Occasionally I will make a suggestion like maybe add an afro or something.
What are you thoughts on the final Product?
I think it looks fantastic... It actually came out better than I expected. As the pages were done and I saw what Amy was creating, I was like “WOW this is really happening... and it looks good.”
How do you want to develop the this series?
Well for now, we want to keep pumping out Comics, which we are doing… You can find them on Amazon, Just search “Discoball Man Book.” It is in both paperback and kindle versions. I would love to get back to doing more live action Disco Video’s with a bigger budget, or even turning his adventures into an animated series… Amy and I are looking into the animation process. http://a.co/i7eohaX
Where can we expect to see Discoball Man to go from here? How far ahead have you thought out the story line?
The sky is the limit as they say. I have already completed 10 comics. And roughed out the next 10.
Can we expect some plush dolls or action figures from this series?
You never know. I might have to give Todd McFarlane a call and see if he is willing to make the action figures.
What is it you want people to take away from this comic after reading it?
I want them to jump into Disco’s world… to search out each comic for the hidden gems we sprinkled about. I want them to say this cat has wings; I am hooked to his jive. I want them to reach out and send Disco a tweet ask him a question.. (which is another thing that we got in every comic.. you send a questions so he answers them, and you get to be a part of the comic. At the end of the day, I want them to feel like Discoball Man is not just a hero you read about but a hero you can interact with, he is your friend.
So you need to go online and check out this comic book. Not just because it's a fun read, but because it's an independent that wants to make it, and should make it. Like I said, it's not part of the big three, so it should get some love! Make sure you check it out!

Khan Prequel Reportedly In The Works
Star Trek has been getting a whole lot of attention since the announcement of Star Trek: Discovery, but now the attention has reached a feverish pitch, because rumors are growing that Paramount is developing a new series that features Khan and his life on the planet Ceti Alpha V, along with his crew that had been abandoned . Nicholas Meyer, arguably the best director in Star Trek history, is reportedly developing the series, and it will deal with Khan and crew's life of survival after a neighboring planet exploded and turned Ceti Alpha V into a desert planet.
Meyer, who was responsible for a few of the best Star Trek movies in it's storied history (he directed Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, and co-wrote Star Trek: The Voyage Home) is said to be working on the Khan series, focusing on Khan Noonien Singh, who first appeared in the original series episode "Space Seed." The role was originally played by Ricardo Montalban (who died in 2009) and more recently portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch in the movie Star Trek Into Darkness. Khan was a genetic experiment that was said to be a more superior human, along with the rest of his crew that were exiled into space after becoming unable to control. After James Kirk stranded them on Ceti Alpha V, the neighboring planet exploded, causing Ceti Alpha V to turn into a desert planet. The series will focus on their survival, and also show how his hatred of Kirk starts to grow.
CBS seems to want to reach back into the series' history to develop new television shows, with the new Star Trek: Discovery series taking place before Kirk ever became a captain, and now the rumored Khan series making it's way around the web. Out of the two, I think that the Khan series has the best chance of making it, and this is why...if you go back and watch the original series, and then watch the next generation, they both follow the same format. The same can be said about Deep Space Nine and Voyager. Once Enterprise came out, the style changed, and it hasn't been the same since. Discovery looks to follow in the footsteps of Enterprise, so I'm not expecting much from it. A Khan series, however, would do much better in the style that seems to be taking over.
We won't know if this actually happens until CBS makes a formal announcement, but I' guessing that shouldn't take too long. Khan is a fan favorite, and it would seem to be an easy sell to produce, especially if Meyer is involved. Star Trek: Discovery will be the litmus test, so to speak. If it does well, then expect the Khan series to be green lit. Star Trek: Discovery will premier on September 24 on CBS, and then will only appear on their streaming service, CBS All Access.

Meet Kara Gordon, Daughter Of Jim Gordon
What would happen if Kara Danvers never met up with the Kent's and had never been trained by Clark so that she would one day become Supergirl? That's what writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly decided to look at in their new comic book Gotham City Garage. It's a story that takes place in an "American wasteland inhabited by DC’s younger generation of heroes surviving on motorcycles and rebellion," according to Andrew Dyce over at Screenrant.com. The two writers talked with the site and had this to say about the direction that they are going with this particular comic:
"It’s still a coming of age story for both Kara Gordon and her sister, Barbara. A sibling duo fans could only previously have dreamed of, but one that sounds like it will do justice to the skills and agency of both. Albeit in a very, very different version of the DC Universe. Lanzing explains the new take:
We can’t give too much away because that’s a little bit of a secret in our first couple issues, but what we can say is the two got raised as sisters. Kara Gordon is the daughter of Jim Gordon who is himself still police commissioner of the LEXES city state. So while Barbara went and worked for The Bat, Kara was just a tech, she has a normal job working a totally normal nine to five.
She literally programs the little mind control machines that are in everybody’s brains. She does tech support for everyone’s mind control device. But she has always felt like an outsider; always felt like there was something different about her. She has that feeling that I think any young person has growing up into a more corporate society, when they realize once I become a cog in this machine, is that all I am? And Barbara has a place that is fulfilling for her, but Kara doesn’t. And when Kara realizes that there is more to life than this, that’s the meat of our whole first issue. She’s going to seek out something different."
The two continued:
"There’s a certain fundamental aspect of these characters that’s never going to change. Kara Gordon, whether her name is Kara Gordon or Kara Danvers, is always going to be a hero in her core. But how she gets there is going to be different depending on the circumstances in her world.
During the Dark Age, during this big event, the heroes of the world – the Justice Society, the heroes that we know – they got wiped out. So in a lot of the cases the women who were their sidekicks had to actualize without these men in their lives. So without those men to be the heroes that can be looked up to, they were forced to become their own heroes. As for the bikes of it all, well they live in the freescape – there are not a lot of ways to get around. We’re trying to make each female hero have to step up and become the hero we otherwise wouldn’t have known."
While the two don't go into much detail about the "Dark Age," they teased that people aren't really familiar with superheroes in this world.
"Kara Gordon is the first Kryptonian hero the world has ever seen. In our book, Wonder Woman is a myth. She is a word on the wind. This symbol of hope that most people don’t even think is really a thing anymore. So when she shows up, that’s going to be amazing."
I've always enjoyed these alternate universe comics. There's one that I enjoyed where Bruce ends up becoming a Green Lantern instead of the Batman, but he basically incorporates the two personas into one. There's another one where the Wayne family find Superman as a baby instead of the Kent's, and Clark grows up to become the Batman, but with all of his Kryptonian powers. They're a fun read and distraction from everything else going on in comics, but they don't screw up the actual timeline. They're just for fun.
Gotham City Garage #1 will be released on August 16 in digital format, and print copies will arrive in October.

Thor: Ragnarok's End Credit Scene To Feature Big Cameos
While we still have several months before Thor: Ragnarok comes out n theaters, we are already hearing some things about the "end-credits" scene. Director Taiki Waititi and cast recently finished up two weeks worth of reshoots, and Waititi continued his request that the actors first shoot the scripted scenes, and then shot a number of similar scenes where the actors improvised lines instead of what was written for the scene. The results sound like this technique has improved the movie ten-fold. Even the actors seemed to enjoy the freedom that they were given during filming. One of the actors, Tessa Thompson, recently sat down for an interview and had this to say about the movie and it's reshoots:
"Dude, we killed it. I mean hopefully. We did so many setups, and also what was so exciting is you could see like at the end of the day it would get cut in… There’s two characters in the film that potentially have a fight scene, and some of the reshoots were just adding. So it wasn’t like reshooting stuff, a lot of it was just additional photography or like shooting tags which may or may not have included cameos from elsewhere."
Wait...cameos? Who was she talking about? It's not that hard to believe that the director was able to get whatever actors he needed from the other franchise movies to come in to shoot some scenes, considering that Avengers: Infinity War was filming around the same time as the reshoots. It seems practical to think that if he needed/wanted any of the actors for an added scene, it wouldn't be that hard to pull off. So what did they shoot that required "cameos" of other Marvel characters? I guess we won't find out until Thor: Ragnarok comes out on November 3, 2017. You can read the movies synopsis down below:
In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – The Incredible Hulk!

Marvel Is About To Go VERY Old School!
Sometimes is comic books, in order to fix the present and the future you have to fix the past, and that is what it looks like Marvel is about to do. In fact, they are going to be going all the way back in the new Marvel Legacy #1...to give us the "1,000,000 BC Avengers."
With all of the crap that they've been giving readers (well, those that are still following the storyline) with the Hydra Captain America, and the fact that he's taking out fan favorite heroes, in order to put things right and move forward again, they are going to give us a "soft reboot" that will feature the very first Avengers team. That team is comprised of Odin (Thor's father), the first Iron Fist and Black Panther, the first Ghost Rider, Starbrand, Phoenix, and Agamotto (one of the ancient Vishanti from the Doctor Strange comic books). This 50-page first issue is being written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Esad Ribic. It's Executive Editor is Tom Brevoort who, when talking about the first issue, said this:
“Marvel Legacy #1 isn’t simply a history lesson. Rather, it’s the starting gun to a bevy of mysteries, secrets, and revelations that will reverberate across the Marvel Universe in the weeks and months to come! No character, no franchise will be untouched by the game-changing events that play out across its pages. Jason and Esad pulled out all the stops to fat-pack this colossal issue with as much intrigue, action, surprise, mystery, shock, and adventure as possible!”
The comic won't take place exclusively in the past, as it's being said that it will involve "elements of Planet Hulk," it will explain what happened to Captain America, why Jean Grey suddenly split for Canada, and will talk about Thor's battle in Asgard. It's also revealed that someone has abducted Iron Man's comatose body and it seems that someone else is out there trying to collect all of the Infinity Stones.
It sounds like this may be the last time (for a long while, anyway) that Marvel will be tinkering with it's comic's history. Every time they change something, it confuses readers, both old and new. This sounds like it will put everything right, and they will move forward from the after affects of all of the events that will take place in the past.
Marvel Legacy #1 will be released September 27, 2017.
