The MCU is having a pretty good year so far. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 has been steamrolling the competition, Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release shortly, and Thor: Ragnarok will close out the year for Marvel. While all of these movies have gotten fans excited to head out to the theaters, it's next year's Avengers: Infinity War that has people talking. One of the main topics being discussed is who will make it out alive by the end of the film...and fans are going to have to accept the fact that not all of the Avengers are going to survive.
Kevin Feige was recently interviewed by JoBlo while out promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming, and was talking about Spidey's next appearance in Infinity War. JoBlo specifically asked Feige if we could expect to lose any of the Avengers after Infinity War, and Feige answered with a simple, but decisive, "Yes." When he was asked about the future of Iron Man and Captain America, he had this to say:
"We have another two years of hard work to even finish these movies, and they [the actors] have a lot of hard work to do, so that’s all we’re thinking about, is completing those and delivering on the promise of those. Where it goes beyond that, we’ll see."
It seems unlikely that either Iron Man or Captain America might meet their demise, but there is one Avenger that is almost certain to die. That Avenger? Vision. His very existence and personality is due to the Infinity Stone that is embedded in his forehead. In order for Thanos to complete his Infinity Gauntlet, he'll need to secure the Infinity Stone from Vision's head. Since Thanos isn't exactly known for being merciful, chances are that Vision's time in the MCU may be limited.
So who else could we lose during Infinity War? We'll just have to wait until next year to find out. Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters May 4, 2018.
