Joss Whedon was at the San Diego Comic Con over the past weekend, and while he was there he revealed a new project that he was working on. It's a comic book called Twist, and he describes the lead character as a "Victorian, female Batman."
Color me interested!
After working on the Avengers films over the past few years, Whedon said that it was a nice change of pace, and it was good to flex a different muscle as opposed to big budget movie making.
Joss is no stranger to comic books. He's been a life-long fan of comics, and has worked on them before. Some of the titles that he's done are Fray, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9, Angel: After the Fall, and Firefly, just to name a few,
Entertainment Weekly says that Twist is a "Victorian thriller about a meek chambermaid who is fed to a dark horror--but instead of dying, she returns, with knowledge, power, and rage she can neither deny nor control."
The comic is a planned six-issue series, and Joss will be writing the whole thing himself. The above art work was drawn by Totino Tedesco.
