So have you seen the latest trailer for the upcoming Batman v Superman movie? In it, there is a scene that shows Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman battling an unseen foe. So who is this adversary? It seems that Heroic Hollywood has gone on the record as to who it is. And just in case you hadn't guessed by now, there are some potential spoilers ahead, so be warned!
Still with me? Good! So in the scene that we saw in the trailer, it's being reported that Wonder Woman is fighting none other than Doomsday! The fact that Doomsday is going to appear in the film isn't new, it's been speculated on for quite a while. In fact, if you go back to some of my earlier posts on this blog, you'll see that I've talked about it previously myself. The rumors have it that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) some how gets his hands on the body of General Zod (Michael Shannon) and begins to do tests on the Kryptonian to try and find a weakness that he can use against Superman. Evidently, he is able to extract Zod's DNA and creates Doomsday using that DNA. This changes up the whole origin of Doomsday from the comic book, but this wouldn't be the first time that a movie has taken "artistic liberties" when it comes to making a comic book into a movie. Just look at pretty much every X-Men movie.
With the introduction of Doomsday into the mix, it sounds like he will be the catalyst that makes Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman all join forces. After all, it is titles Batman v Superman, so it's safe to assume that they aren't exactly chummy when the movie starts out.
Keep in mind that these are all still just rumors, and we won't find out anything for sure until the movie is released. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016.
